Pets, bless their little hearts. I get more work from the carpet damage that dogs and cats do than anything else. I've also seen damaged carpet due to rodents, birds, one time even a pot-belly pig!

If you leave a dog or a cat in a locked room they may try to dig their way out. When a dog or cat try's to claw their way out of a closed door, you will need a patch to repair it. If you have some extra carpet from the original installation I can use it for the carpet patch, if you don't have some left over from the carpet installation, I can take a piece from a closet or under a piece of furniture.

The other gift that animals like to leave us is, well, let's just say it's nasty. When a dog urinates on a carpet you can often have the carpet cleaned and just replace the padding. When a cat urinates on a carpet you have no choice but to cut the urine stain out along with the padding and clean the floor below it. Cat urine will never stop stinking until you replace the carpet and pad. There are a couple of good products we can use to clean the wood or concreted floor under the carpet pad.

		When we knocked on the door this big boy had an angry bark. It's a good thing I speak fluent dog. The owner was very upset the the dog ruined several places of the carpet. We will do several carpet repairs here.

		He had to wait outside while we worked. (He doesn't look so tough now)

		This dogs nail must have gotten caught on a loop of this Berber carpet. We are going to fix it by re-burling it with our special technique. Re burling Berber carpet is a specialty of ours. We do all types of Berber carpet repairs.

		This is Alan using an awl to get the carpet repair to look just right.

		You can't even see the repaired carpet at all.

		This same dog in the same house. He had a little problem with this Berber carpet. You can see that he ripped the Berber carpet to shreds. Alan's the one on the left. :)

		Here the carpet seam iron is plugged in. The iron makes some smoke so we opened the back door to ventilate the area. When it comes to pet damaged carpet, we are the people you want to call.

		Alan begins to cut the pet damaged carpet out. He uses a slotted blade knife and a pair of carpet shears.

		The old, damaged carpet needs to be cut out just perfectly. If we cut it too close to the nap it will unravel. If we don't cut the carpet close enough to the nap it will look like there's a gap in the Berber carpet. This pet damaged Berber carpet repair took some serious concentration.

		The old dog damaged carpet is cut away and Alan begins to patch a new piece in it's place.

		Bad Dog! Carpet is NOT a food group. NO! This will require a pretty large carpet patch. We will also be replacing some of the damaged carpet padding.

		The carpet patch is done but the dog is still hungry. oh oh. I have a feeling we'll be back.

		This carpet patch was right along the carpet seam. The dog that destroyed this carpet gets to live outdoors now. Not only does the carpet need a carpet patch, but the carpet pad needs to be patched as well. The carpet is also ripped along the carpet seam so if the carpet repair is to be done perfectly the seam will need to be repaired. This dog really does know how to rip carpet.

		Here is the carpet patch job at about half way through. We have removed the bad carpet and used a straight edge carpet tool to cut the carpet straight.

		The ripped up carpet is a patched carpet now. This whole pet damaged carpet looks as good as new. If your dog damages a carpet, call me, I'll fix your carpet!

		Dogs usually scratch carpet to get in or out of a room that their locked into. This pet damaged carpet needs a good carpet patch after we fix the carpet pad. If you look carefully you can see the carpet seam tape that is exposed as well as the carpet padding.

		Now that the carpet patch has been installed the customer will need to teach that dog to dig somewhere else!
